Marhoefer April 18, 2008 Chicago, IL - The Architrouve is proud to present the solo exhibition Genuine Object by W.K. Marhoefer. The exhibition consists of mixed media sculptures; featuring sexy girls, French bulldogs, and an assorted cast of characters. The son of a Chicago meat packer, William attributes much of his works influence to early childhood memories in the stockyards, meat packing plants, slaughterhouses, and gritty locations like Maxwell Street and Riverview Amusement Park. William's mother, a former beauty pageant winner, offers a counter-balance and influence in his work. The artist has created an alluring suite of strange and playful characters. Designed and executed in 2006, the mission of The Architrouve is to embrace and promote the creative process as reflected in the art and culture of Chicago. We will enhance, encourage and showcase artists with this vision. Friday, April 18 Opening Reception 7 pm - 9pm The Architrouve 1433 W.
